How to manage anxiety at work
Anxiety is the natural body response to stress. People with anxiety disorders frequently have intense, excessive worry and fear about everyday situations that happens in their life. Anxiety at work can affect quality of your life and most of the people suffer anxiety because of their work pressure. This disorder can affect performance and the quality of your work, relationships with your colleagues or may be with your supervisors. Most of the people's problems start with their deadlines and dealing with difficult people at workplace.
Below are some tips to manage your anxiety at work,
Speak to Your Manager and Co-workers :
We all feel uncomfortable while doing this, but speaking to your manager or co-workers about your anxiety disorder may help to offer accommodations to do your work more effectively. Some people may fear to tell to their disorder, that they think it leads to losing out on promotions, or having it on your permanent record. Not everyone feels comfortable doing this, but speaking to your manager or supervisor about your anxiety disorder may help. You may be offered accommodations to help you do your job more effectively. Ultimately, you cannot be discriminated against because of anxiety disorder.
Always Look for quick solutions :
Try to identify, what make you more stress or exacerbate your anxiety, so that you can find more solutions to avoid it. For example, while working try a different route if your communication is getting you down. These solutions may not resolve your anxiety disorder completely, but taking a proactive approach can help your mental health.
Make small changes to your routine work :
When your affected with anxiety, it's important to cultivate habits that promote your physical, emotional and mental well-being. Do your healthier activities like evening walk with your dog, grabbing lunch on Fridays with your best friend or a sweating it out. Always get ready before 15 minutes and do some yoga or try meditation ,and focus things that you enjoy.
Keep your Deadlines Honest :
Sometimes Anxious disorder people agree to deadlines and timelines that they know they cannot meet. So, Often it’s better to be always honest upfront than to apologize later. I didn't say that every deadline is negotiable, but it will save you hours of anxiety and if you can be honest upfront and work at a manageable pace.

Now a days most of the workplaces offer counselling through employee assistance programs (EAPs) to help you manage anxiety. Try to build more friendly relationships, improve communication, and ask for help, the entire office will benefit. This Anxiety disorder is always present in your daily life, but it doesn’t going to interfere with doing good work and enjoying your profession. Always Remember, though anxiety is an unpleasant emotion, . It is also an opportunity to grow in your career. When you face more anxiety in the workplace rather than running away from it or simply complain about it, be strong and confident to fight against your disorder.
